Jawa will commence deliveries of the Forty Two and Classic from next month. After announcing the company’s re-entry on November 15, the response for both these bikes has been overwhelming and the company has officially closed the bookings on December 25 as they need to manage production and deliveries.
The Forty Two and Classic have been sold out till September 2019 and customers can still book the bike at any of the dealerships but deliveries will commence only in September. The company has already opened dealerships in Pune, Bengaluru, Delhi and Gurgaon as they are planning to open 105 dealerships by next month.

Initially, the Forty Two and Classic models were available with a single disc and ABS for the front wheel only but the media along with potential customers were disappointed with this decision even though the bikes offered decent feedback. Then the company introduced the dual disc variant with dual-channel ABS system last month. The company priced the dual-channel ABS variant at a premium of Rs. 8,942, which is lower compared to some of the rivals. Jawa also offered the option for customers to switch bookings to the newer double disc variant without any change in booking amount. But the delivery of new variant will begin only after June 2019.

Jawa has also tied up with Mahindra First Choice wheels as the exchange partners, which will make it easier for customers to exchange their old bike with new Jawa models. Along with this, the retro-manufacturer has also announced that they have partnered with various finance companies to offers best in class schemes for the customers.
The Forty Two and Classic are powered by the same 293 cc single cylinder, liquid cooled engine, which already meets the upcoming BSVI emission norms and it produces 27 bhp of power and 28 Nm of torque, this engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and the engineers have tuned the engine for mid-range performance. These bikes compete against Royal Enfield Classic series.
